It’s officially the end of an era… after 4 and a half years of Matchy Matchy Stirrup Covers & More it is time for a total rebrand and I am so proud to announce my beloved small business will now be known as KB Collection.

 
4 and a half years ago we were smack bam in the middle of a Covid-19 Pandemic, it was scary, isolating and extremely boring but even worse, horse shows were becoming a distant memory. I had always had the opportunity to sew thanks to my mum’s sewing machines and knowledge, but it wasn’t until this period of sheer boredom that I decided to uncover mum’s machines and create items from my own imagination. I learnt quickly how much of a skill it is to be able to sew, to be able to make practical items, your own clothes or even mend others, gives you a sheer sense of accomplishment. My love for sewing quickly met my love for my horses and their gear, whilst expanding my skill of sewing it was suggested to me that I should make a pair of stirrup covers for my saddle to prevent the stirrups scratching the saddle flaps whilst it was being stored, believe it or not I still have that pair stirrup covers still doing their job of protecting the flaps on one of my many saddles!
 
Fast forward to today and I now sell over 15 different categories of products some of which showcased in 2 local retailers. I’ve been extremely supported throughout this journey by my family, friends and customers but my 2 biggest supports have been and always will be my 2 Grandmas. My passion for creativity has purely stemmed from the inspiring talent of my grandmas - everything from crochet to paintings they’ve had it mastered. However, devastatingly in August 2023 I lost my Grandma Lyn, her legacy for handicrafts and design is single handedly my purpose and drive for my small business and I know she is just as proud as I am by how far it has come. 
 
As my small business continues to grow, it is just fitting that its name does too, what was once a few pairs of stirrup covers is now a large collection of handmade items, so therefore I have decided to rebrand as KB Collection, and where does the “KB” come from you may ask? Well, that’s me! Katie Brand. I want to thank all my amazing customers for your love and support over the years and I can assure you I will continue making all my current products, including the beloved Stirrup Covers! 
 
When I discovered my love for sewing 4 and a half years ago, I would have never imagined it would become the incredible business it is today and though Matchy Matchy Stirrup Covers & More will forever hold a place in my heart, it is time this little business becomes KB Collection…
